Planning

Below you can see the general planning for the entire weekend and specifically for the wedding day. For the weekend, a WhatsApp-Group will be made to be able to reach each other easily whenever needed. As you willl see in the next section, the locations are within 50 meters distance to each other.

Locations mapping

The entire wedding takes place in and around the Transylvanian Guesthouse of Cincsor (Str. Principală nr. 210, Cincșor 507261, Roemenië).

For more impressions, have a look at their website: http://transilvania-cincsor.ro/en/home/

On our wedding day, we will attend to three of the buildings in the small village:

  • 1330: Arrival and welcome in the Former School

  • 1400: Ceremony at the Fortified Church

  • 1515: Dinner and party in the garden of the Former Parish House

Sleeping Chart

All weekend-guests sleep in Cincsor and will be assigned their accommodation upon arrival at the Former School. These accommodations are spread over four buildings:

  • The Former School: room S1-4

  • The Former Parish House: room P1-4

  • The Peasant’s House: room C1-4

  • The Frank House: room F1-4

If you want to have a sneak-peek at the rooms: http://transilvania-cincsor.ro/en/houses

Your exact room will be assigned on the day of arrival.

Breakfast/brunch will be held in the Former School. This is where the chef’s kitchen and restaurant is located. If you need any drinks or snacks during the day, this is your place to go.

Dinners will be held in the garden of the Former Parish House. This area is completely surrounded by walls (ideal for dogs and kids) and will function as our chilling area throughout the weekend.

Dresscode and weather prospect

In the beautiful hills of Transylvania, it will be summer! Think about a straight 29 degrees Celsius, sunny and bright blue skies. However, in the evening it will cool off significantly, sometimes down to 13 degrees Celsius. It is therefore important to make sure that you do not only pack your favorite summer outfits, but also have a set of warmer clothing with you when you get chilly.

We do not enforce a strict dresscode but of course we have some tips!

  • Style: ‘summer chique’ (Wat is dresscode Summer Chic? Dames & Heren | Dresscode.NL)

  • Garden party: part of the garden is covered with grass. It is therefore not advised to wear shoes with stiletto heels.

  • Romanian weddings tend to be quite formal and classic in style. Think about black tuxedos for the guys and long evening dresses for the girls.

  • Dutch weddings tend to be relatively informal compared to Romanian weddings, but the guys tend to ‘suit-up’ and the girls to wear dresses in a less formal style.

  • Our wedding will be an interesting mix of both of these styles that will never be entirely complementary to each other. And we love that!

On Saturday we would appreciate the guys to suit-up and the girls to wear a classy summer dress.

On Friday-night (after the excursion), the setting will be more informal but we would appreciate if everyone would dress up nicely to elevate the atmosphere and create a real party-setting.

Transport

Great that you already booked your ticket! Besides this effort, transport will be very easy for you:

  • On your arrival on Sibiu Airport on Thursday a driver will be waiting for you:

    • 13:30 : a 19 person bus is leaving to the wedding location

    • 15:10 : a 9 person bus is leaving to the wedding location

  • On Friday morning a 50 person bus is leaving at 09:45 to take us on an excursion to Sibiu. The same bus will bring us back at the end of the afternoon. Separate transportation will be arranged for those who will return to the accommodation earlier (as indicated in the survey we shared with you before).

  • Sunday at 14:30 a 35 person bus is leaving for the airport.

So, no need for renting cars. If you might need anything during the weekend, we will ensure that it will be provided. Of course, everything you can think of beforehand: please let us know. We will already be at the location a few days early, so we have time to arrange additional things to make your stay more comfortable. Don’t hesitate to share your whishes with us or let us know where we can help out!

GIFTS

Let us first highlight that your biggest gift to us is your presence during this weekend. We completely realize that this might not be your average wedding.

If you, nonetheless, would like to provide us with a gift, we of course highly appreciate that. Due to the travelling distance - both for you and us - it is most convenient and helpful to do so in a financial contribution to our honeymoon.

You can do this in the following two ways:

  1. At the wedding there will be a ‘giftbox’ where you can submit either cash or digitally by scanning a QR-code.

  2. If you don’t want to bother during the wedding, you can transfer your gift via the link or QR-code. This puts money in a ‘hidden’ bankaccount which we can only access after the wedding. In this way it will be a surprise for us on our honeymoon.

Thank you!
